Home Cookin’ is one adult film that proves you can have a fun plot, decent acting and truly hot sex in the same video. In many adult films, there simply is no character development or plausible story at all, but Home Cookin’ serves up a light-hearted story, good acting for an adult film and nasty, authentic lesbian sex.
The story is about Rita, who’s been hurt too much and given up on love, and Casey, a painfully shy girl who’s afraid to ask Rita out on a date. Kathryn MacGregor is the sultry brunette with a truly voluptuous body and the most amazingly large natural breasts I’ve ever seen. And she can act, too. Roxanne is the platinum blonde ex-lover who wounded Rita’s heart. I’d have loved to see more of this girl – she’s got 1930’s glamour girl looks and great acting ability. Home Cookin’ offers up a lot of variety in the sex scenes but all done with realistic lesbian passion. These actresses are authentically queer and obviously love sex with women and it shows! Though very femme, they have a real heat between them and the doorway seduction scene is true to life and worth the price of this video alone. The naughty French maid strip scene (which gives new meaning to the term " string of pearls") and the "messy fun" ice cream/chocolate/ whipped cream scene on the restaurant table were a close second with our review audience. Our review audience loved the gorgeous women and the hot sex scenes. Both men and women loved the sex parts, but the women in the audience also loved the realistic story and the fact that the women’s characters have real personality, real lives, real jobs and problems in love we all can relate to. What fun!! I really enjoyed this sexy and playful story about two women who haven't had much luck in love (something we can all relate to!!) The women, Rita and Casey, are wonderfully sexy, real-life women who obviously enjoy one another. Their attraction for one another reveals itself in some delicious fantasies involving chocolate, whipped cream and various spicy sauces. These fantasies are both erotic and playful…and they will make you wet! The French Maid strip fantasy is done from a lap-dance perspective and is quite hot! And the doorway seduction scene is beautifully done. It'll make you consider finding a girl and an empty doorway soon! Home Cookin' is well made with good lighting, great sound and fun dialog. I really enjoyed this director's take on lesbian erotica. I appreciated watching women have very lusty and realistic sex versus some of the "posed" sex you often get in lesbian porn. Be sure to watch the out takes where you'll see what a good time the cast had making this movie!! I hope to see more movies like this from Alpha and her Passion Fruit Productions!

I hate to disagree with all of the above positive reviews, but I was disappointed with this one. Despite the 5-Star rating (or maybe because of it) I expected better. The story was a cute one, and I generally liked the characters in it. Rita (the blonde) was a hottie, and the whole seduction idea was a good one, with Casey putting the moves on her. Phathead rated both women 'very attractive,' and it's here that I must first find fault. While Casey's face was gorgeous, I thought her body was too flabby. Huge-breast-lovers will violently disagree with me, but I also thought her tits were TOO big, and I didn't care much at all for her legs and rear. As for that French maid costume scene mentioned by the other reviewers, while I normally LOVE watching one girl give another a sexy lap-dance, in this instance she was dancing for the camera - kind of like what the girls always do on those PLAYBOY videos. Yes, I know we're supposed to imagine it being in front of another girl, but I'd rather see the other girl in the shot, enjoying it. As for the sex scenes, I thought they were mostly clumsy and unimaginative. The set-ups were weak, and the efforts at showing seduction not really serious. Obviously there are other reviewers who'll disagree with me, but I'd have to rate this one a disappointing C+ at best.

Normally I don't write reviews, I just view and enjoy, but the review of this movie from “Anon in Bama” is so off base I had to write. As a consumer of porn I have grown tired of the "formula" too many films use. All the girls look like they're cut from the same mold -- all are thin, long-haired, showing little personality and worse acting ability and they have the same size breast enhancement. So it blew me away when I saw this movie because here is one that is so not the formula -- it's different, and that is a huge turn-on for me. I, for one, don't find those "Ally McBeal" skinny girls attractive -- they look kind of anorexic. I mean, I appreciate that some guys like girls who look like skinny young guys, but geez -- give us a break. A lot of us like women with curves, full shapely asses and big, full, firm breasts. The women in this movie look like women -- and natural women, too, not surgically implanted tits that wouldn't move if you hit them with a truck! I resent the idea that consumers only want to see one kind of woman. I also resent the idea that we don't want to see personality and actual acting from porn stars. Yes, we do! For me, the thing that makes a woman most attractive is if she's not only beautiful but interesting, too. One thing about this movie is -- these girls are shown as people, and their acting is as good or better than anything I've seen in porn, ever. The red-head in this movie was hot!!! She has a really beautiful face, and her fuller body with those big, full breasts is a knock-out, in my opinion! I don't know too many guys who'd complain about being smothered in breasts that size! She's also a good actress and seemed like a nice person -- she made me feel like I really knew her by the end of the picture. That was a turn-on , too. The blonde is more of the "Hollywood style" build, but her larger, natural breasts and that round, toned ass were as nice as any I've ever seen! Plus, I'm a sucker for Southern girls. As for clumsy, I thought the sex scenes were more realistic than any I've seen in a long time. The girls were obviously hot for each other, not just going through the motions for the camera. Real sex most likely doesn't look as "pretty" and graceful as the pretend kind, but I know which I'd rather see. Unlike the other reviewers, I preferred the bedroom scene where the blond (who is sexy as hell from her first minute on-screen) is humping the redhead and playing with ice with her (and in her). This scene felt very real to me, and the obvious facial expressions and sounds the girls were making was a total turn-on. Again, they didn't follow the formula, but I suspect that the sex in that scene was more real than most I've seen in girl-girl films. I hope this company and others keep making stuff that "colors outside the box" and makes films that reject the usual formulas. This film accomplished something in that I watched the whole thing and actually had the sound on -- the music was great (unlike the really bad 70's stuff that most of the films have) and the acting was so good I actually wanted to hear what they were saying! Now that's an achievement in porn, in my opinion!

When I first heard of this film, I'll admit that the "lesbian directed" title made me a little apprehensive. I also worried that the video would have too much story -- and not enough action -- to be satisfying. After watching it, though, I was pleasantly surprised. The women are very feminine (and very cute) and not "butch," and they even doll themselves up (like, er...women) to attract one another's attention. In fact, the only time they act like men is when they behave stupidly, such as when they hang out for lunch at the same (unhealthy) BBQ restaurant hoping to meet someone who works there, or when they become insulting to avoid emotional commitment (as a previous lover does in a jilting flashback). The build-up for the main romance is slow, but the kissing (once it comes) is fantastic. The film fortunately intersperses snippets of (our heroine) Rita's remembered and fantasized romances to liven up the action; such as when Rita frolics on the bed with a past lover (a voluptuous blonde) who dumps her and leaves after cavalierly donning what looks like long-legged men's briefs -- complete with fly (which was hilarious); and another fantasy sequence where Rita and Casey (Rita's love interest) hump each other breast-to-breast and clit-to-clit, with Rita delicately eating Casey's pussy, and then seductively rubbing ice against Casey's nipple and love button (which sends Casey reeling) before simultaneously kissing (her lips) and finger fucking her to conclusion. What made this film so entertaining, though (besides the sex), was the hilarious over-the-top nature of the acting, the characters' performances bordering on the melodramatic in their delivery. In a fun fantasy sequence, Rita (who is played by Maitresse Elise) lets her mind drift to imagine Casey performing a luscious striptease while wearing -- and then completely removing -- a lacy French maid's outfit accented by a sexy string-of-pearl thong bikini deliciously bisecting her ass; Casey offering her voluptuous breasts in a manner more suggestive than you'll ever see at any Hooters restaurant. I thought, for sure -- in style and content -- that I had stumbled upon an old (and uncut) episode of Benny Hill! (I couldn't stop chuckling -- even as parts of me stood at attention -- a simultaneous combination of reactions that no film had ever triggered in me before!) Rita's main love interest, Casey (played by Kathryn MacGregor), is a woman so gorgeous with large, warm breasts that it's not surprising that anyone (man or woman) wouldn't resist falling in love with her. The love affair that Rita and Casey achieve is very satisfying, with a very visual climax coming at the end where they make love spontaneously in the doorway of the restaurant after closing; the two of them kissing each other tenderly, letting their hands drift to feel and disrobe each other; with Casey then kneeling to impale Rita deliciously with her tongue; all of their sensuous love noises captured exquisitely on film. (There's even some fun outtakes revealed afterwards as the credits begin to roll.) For a film which stimulated both halves of my brain (and all part of my body), Home Cookin' was truly outstanding! This was easily the most entertaining, humorous and erotically energizing "lesbian directed" movie I had ever seen. I would highly recommend it to everyone!

What a disappointment this turned out to be. I disagree with pretty much everything positive anybody had to say about this amateurish and unerotic effort. (I know, I’m such a grouch.) The only things I liked were the fun atmosphere and the cast, all three women were appealing and they were all of different physical types, it’s nice to see different body types for a change. Maitresse Elise especially is very likeable and attractive. She’s the one with the frying pan on the cover. What great dimples! It’s nice that an attempt was made at a lighthearted story but it just wasn’t very well done. The jokes were the obvious double entendres about food and sex and the acting wasn’t very good. Even if it was well done it wouldn’t have made up for the poorly executed sex scenes which are this movie’s main downfall. This movie fails in almost every area. The camera work is sloppy and the angles are often poorly chosen. The lighting is harsh. Whatever natural lovemaking sounds there are are half drowned out by loud dance music. One scene is edited in an annoying rapid fire style so no shot lasts more than a few seconds. In a short scene two women look very beautiful together as they lie side by side but they do nothing but lightly caress each other. Then one of them puts on some ugly underwear and leaves. (Third vidcap.) The doorway scene shown in the vidcaps comes the closest to success. There is some nice sexy foreplay but much of the kissing is blocked by the arm of one of the women, the camera shakes and wiggles, at times it’s shot at an odd angle, the lighting looks as if it’s from a thousand watt lamp blazing away just inside the doorway, it is too short, and it moves too fast, along with other faults. I suspect that this movie may have received such good reviews simply because it is made by women who “define themselves as queer”. The belief held by some that a lesbian is better qualified to make lesbian erotica than a man simply because she’s a lesbian is nonsense, as proven by this movie. Being a lesbian doesn’t make someone any more capable of making good lesbian porn than having been in the army makes someone capable of making a good war movie. It’s just not that simple. Also, isn’t it stereotyping to assume all lesbians like the same kind of porn? I really don’t care who makes what movies, just as long as they’re good. I’ve seen many, many movies, most directed by men, since the majority of directors are men, that were much more erotic than this one. Two of the best that I’ve seen recently are “Brazilian Amateurs #3” and an “Evening with Dominique and Friend.” In both these movies even though the actresses don’t proclaim themselves as “queer”, they clearly like and lust for their co-stars. I wonder what kind of reviews this mediocrity would have received if it wasn’t such a rarity for a porn movie to be made by a woman? If you are especially interested in watching movies directed by women I would recommend “Desire, an Erotic Fantasyplay”, “Goodbye Emma Jo”, “San Francisco Lesbians #1” or “Cynara, Poetry in Motion”, all very erotic films and all much better than “Home Cookin’”. Well, this has turned into quite the rant. I don’t mean to imply that this is an awful movie, it isn’t. It’s just a very mediocre movie that is greatly over rated. Two out of five stars for nice cast and fun atmosphere.

I disagree with Lotus. I was ecstatic to find a great lesbian movie made by true lesbians with gorgeous women who appear to truly like women. Lotus, when a lesbian is directing a lesbian film, it is from the woman's point-of-view, and the woman's true experiences. When a man directs/writes a lesbian film, it's the male's fantasy about two women, and it isn't authentically lesbian. The acting was a bit silly, but it accentuates the comedic portion of the movie, so I really liked it. I hope these two lovelies appear in more movies.

I agree with the editor on this. The sex was simply not explicit enough. I don't see why a scene like this - so different from mainstream stuff - is somehow incompatible with some nice lingering shots of oral sex. I'm not necessarily talking full blown XXX here, just a better balance. The departure from the normal sex video formula was evident from the start. As other reviewers have pointed out the girls are not the standard slim blonde porn star types, they are 'real' women with real curves. Kathryn MacGregor is my favourite here and the French maid striptease scene was a major, major turn-on. What a fantastic body! The build-up to the two girls getting together was very unpredictable - I just loved the way they looked at each other in the restaurant and LUSTED after each other the whole time. The scene in the doorway was the most satisfying thing to watch. The girls truly hunger for one another. So two minor corrections to this production would have improved it for me. The music should be done away with completely during sex scenes - in my opinion it simply doesn’t enhance anything, especially when the sex is a real as this. Some (slightly) more adventurous camera angles of the oral sex would also make it so much better. I look forward very much to seeing the next offering from this company and just hope Kathryn is a part of it. 8/10.

Oh, my god! This is a great little movie! It has a great story, great acting and really hot women! The doorway scene, is surely one of the best I've ever seen -- two women totally in lust gradually seducing and undressing each other in the most realistic way I've seen in a porn movie yet. I loved the build-up of the fantasies one girl has about the other till finally they culminate their attraction in real life. The strip done by Kathryn ( the one with breasts the size of Montana) is amazing! This video is so refreshing and not of the porn style mold at all. The women don't have that " plastic" look and they are beautiful, natural and actually convincingly attracted to each other. My only complaint about this one is that it's short -- maybe their next will be longer.

This movie has a wonderful plot and beautiful women! The plot about a woman who has grown wary of love is so true to life, even though her fantasies are fantastic, but then -- don't most of us have fantasies that might be hard to do in real life? I loved the woman who played Rita -- soft and blonde -- although I found her accent a bit hard to understand sometimes. She is lovely and I also thought the blonde girl who plays her former lover was wonderful. I did not care for the safer sex aspects of the film, but the women look very into each other and very much enjoying themselves. The scene at the end where one girl seduces the other up against a doorway is very exciting and fresh -- I've never seen this situation in a porn movie before but it happens a lot in real life. Without a doubt, the best lesbian movie I've seen.

I just want to say that I enjoyed the movie & thought Kathryn was ooh so sexy, however, after watching it, I couldn't stop thinking about the platinum ex-lover (Roxanne?). More of her would have put the movie over the top (minus the undies).

Wow! What a torrent of disagreement, and opinionated arguments. Being one of the few college-age reviewers here, I'd like to speak up for the younger generation and say that this video is actually pretty cool and stands out in several ways. Here's how it stands out: A story that doesn't look like some total talentless moron wrote it. Modern-day lesbian love complications are something I can relate to. I could empathize with Casey, who's too shy to talk to beautiful girls she's attracted to. It can be very awkward to be a lesbian approaching another girl. The reaction can be very negative, even more than when a guy approaches a girl, I think. Since there is a plot, I won't ruin it with details, but be assured it at least makes sense. This film is well edited, and shot. Dream and fantasy sequences blend right into the story, and the effect is very erotic. I like lesbian filmmakers who actually know some real film techniques. The women are all natural, even if some of them are not for everybody's tastes, they deserve praise for their confidence in these actresses. Somewhere in between amateur and pro is where they fit. The only downsides to the movie are:
1) Length. 20 more minutes would have been just right. Needed one more intermediate scene before the resolution.
2) As Jen pointed out, the sex scenes are not very explicit, although much more than one of those late-night cable movies. However, I think this has more to do with the focus on plot and cinematography, than being reserved. Also, the natural sounds of lovemaking were not very clear.
I normally don't rate a movie according to stars. It just seems a little outdated, and constrained, but if I had to, I would say this deserves at least 4 1/2. Recommended for anyone who wants to see something with a story, and pretty hot action. This is a rarity indeed.

If you've ever visited the South you know that the Southern girls have a way of winding themselves around your heart even as they tempt you. You know those girls are feminine, but you also know they're tough enough. Southern girls with their leisurely pace to love can drive you a little bit crazy, but it's worth it, every second. Home Cookin' is the perfect movie about Southern lesbians, and like the girls there, it teases for awhile before it delivers. You'll love the chase. Having seen a lot of the mass-produced lesbian porn, I was pleasantly surprised to see such obvious affection and sizzle between the two leads, Kathryn and Elise. In the usual films, it seems like a performance -- in the case of these two, it feels very much like they truly hungered for each other. That kind of chemistry is hard to find, even in real life. The fact that the girls are drop-dead gorgeous is just frosting on the cake (I know I'm using a lot of food metaphors but hey, look at the title!) Kathryn (with that figure and beautiful face) and Elise (the blonde with the dimples) are amazing together and have the look and mannerisms of Southern girls down perfectly. Home Cookin' has something I've never actually seen in a sexy video before -- charm! Other reviewers have commented on it. Like the Southern girls it portrays, the movie is sweet and impossible-to-resist. The sex is built into the plot so well you'll swear you were witnessing the real thing in lesbian love. Southern girls know how to tease (and how to deliver) and make you feel like you're the best thing that ever happened to them. Home Cookin' has captured that wonderful, seductive art perfectly with its adorable plot about a woman who's given up on love and the sexy lady who makes her think about love again. The script is obviously done by a woman -- there are too many touches here that women can immediately recognize and identify with. The pace is slow, but you're tempted the whole way till the climax (pun intended) in the doorway where irresistible lust consumes both women. The sex here plays like the real thing, a sizzling seduction shot in an almost "gonzo" style so you feel like you're right there in the action. Though there's a lot of teasing sex and a full-blown oral and hand penetration scene before this, the final sex scene is the payoff to the tempting tease that's gone on through the movie. If you're looking for body parts and wall to wall sex, this movie isn't it. If you're looking for a movie where the girls are shown as real people and you feel like you know them by the end, then buy this movie. You'll be simultaneously excited and caught up in the plot by the end.

My girlfriends and I bought five five-star videos and had a "porn fest" night and none of the movies made it through the boos and catcalls and frequent jumps to the kitchen to get snacks till this one. This IS the perfect lesbian porn movie. The others were just plain lame, really, really lame. But Home Cookin' was funny, sexy and believable. It felt like a story we all could relate to, which made the eventual hook-up of the two leads that much more satisfying. Everyone sat glued to watching the screen when this movie came on! The blonde ( Elise) who plays Rita was just HOT! She is the ultimate blonde femme -- tough, sexy, funny.. and did I mention she is HOT?! She's got dimples for miles and an amazing body. Even though she's playing a woman burned out on love, she lets you see the hope behind those gorgeous blue eyes. The brunette who plays her love interest is equally lovely, though very young, she's got the right pouty lips and stunning curves to get anyone's attention. Both women acted the story well, and when it came to the sex it was really obvious they were truly into each other. Not in a "porn star" way, not in a "let's do it for the guys" kind of way -- but really into each other in a way that, honestly, we didn't see in any of the other "five star" films. The scene in the doorway was realistic and that made it more exciting to watch. The way the women act and react, from the way they look at each other and kiss, to the sometimes awkward way they go down on each other is more true to life than anything I've ever seen in a porn movie. When that scene came on, all the women in the room watching it were breathing in sync! I kid you not! As soon as this movie was over, people grabbed their lovers and said things like "Well, gotta’ go!" I think it made for some wild sex later for sure. Put this at the top of your list, don't waste money on the imitations, this is the movie that has it all -- realistic story, good acting, hot, hot sex and two of the most beautiful women ever to grace lesbian films.

I must be missing something about the plot and the buildup and even the sex. 5-Stars? Not even close. This video was made to run on the Spice Channel. I would ask the reviewers to look at this film again and dispute my contention that this film for designed, directed and filmed as a soft porn cable "classic". The producers did find a great economic vehicle in that the film probably made its production cost on cable and did its profit from any suckers who bought the video. I will agree that the plot did attempt something akin to desire but never came close to making it happen. I will agree that the women are good looking but no way will I accept the fact that there is any chemistry. As for the "safer sex" label - it seems like a codeword for timid sexual contact and very little actual contact with a vagina. Don’t believe it? Try this: A sex scene where one woman fingers her lover while using a transparent rubber glove. What?! I hope this does not mean the lady has a medical problem. As for the reviewer who saw analingus, please tell me where that happened. I Rate this one as a 2 on a scale of 10. Even on Spice it is only a 4 on a scale of 10.
