Once more a great video: it is never boring and very erotic. One wonders how these girls, who are obviously good friends and not prostitutes, are willing to perform such intimate activity before the camera.

This volume of "Deep Kiss" was a little disappointing compared to some of the others. I found the girls a little hesitant, giggly, and not really into it. I liked the fact that they were in bikinis because they have such soft and cute bodies, but they never press their bodies together for some reason. There is not enough caressing or movement between bodies. The director might want to move in a more passionate direction before fans lose interest.

The young Japanese girls who star in the “Deep Kiss” films aren't lesbians, but some of them are clearly touched by the intimacy of their experience with another girl. This is true whether the girls are kissing each other or surrendering to the guiding hand of a more experienced lover. To call these movies porn at all is to miss the point: that what we’re watching, manipulated as it is, is something real. This is why, I think, “Deep Kiss 16” - by “Deep Kiss” standards - fails. Half the fun of watching these girls kiss is the anticipation (more of a fervent hope, really) that they will take their embrace a step or two further. Taking it a step or two further is what the lover is there to do. In “Deep Kiss 16” the idea is to get the girls to become lovers in their own right. If our suspicions needed the confirmation, this movie’s third scene supplies it. The third scene is the only one in the main feature in which the lover makes an appearance. Her role is that of a coach, a teacher: she whispers encouragement to the girls and seems to guide their activity with strategically-timed suggestions. By the end of the scene, each girl has touched her friend’s breasts and slipped a hand between her legs. Every scene but the first includes a certain degree of breast massage. It sounds great, but these scenes miss the mark. Once you start coaching the girls, you introduce an element of fantasy that has more in common with traditional porn than the erotic truth of other films in the series. If this is what the “Deep Kiss” films were all about, they’d still be exciting to watch, but they wouldn't be nearly as good.
