I thought that this edition of WSW was very strong. Of the four scenes, two were extraordinary, and one was excellent. The Celeste Star/Wenona scene is one of the best and most satisfying "slow seduction" scenes that Girlfriends has ever produced. It is right up there with the Bobbi Starr seduction of Sadie West in WSW 58. It must be stated here, straight up, that I find Celeste Star to be one of the most beautiful and exotic women in film today, anywhere, adult or mainstream. And Celeste gets more stunningly beautiful with each new film. What makes the Celeste Star/Wenona scene work so well is the setup. Celeste has been renting a guest house from Wenona, but economic times have gotten rough for Celeste. Celeste cannot afford to live there anymore. Celeste’s only real option is to move back in with her parents and live by their rules, something which Celeste dreads doing. Wenona is pretty obviously enamored of Celeste, and in a desperate attempt to keep her around, and to maybe take things to a new level, Wenona boldly and shockingly suggests that Celeste move in with her and share her bed. Celeste is stunned at Wenona’s offer but clearly not totally surprised. Celeste politely declines the offer, saying that it is not "for her". So begins Wenona’s slow seduction of Celeste, but this seduction is slightly different from most seduction scenes we have seen. The cards are all on the table here. There is no chance at bluffing or for Wenona to pretend that it is anything other than what it is, that she wants Celeste. And Celeste knows it. So, Wenona goes to touch Celeste’s leg early on in her appeal to consider the offer seriously. Celeste scoots further away from Wenona on the bed. The long slow seduction is aching to watch. Celeste’s wariness gives way to an acceptance of Wenona’s gentle touch as Wenona pleads her case. Then Celeste’s acceptance of Wenona’s tender touch leads to her acceptance of Wenona’s more exploratory touch, and then to a gentle kiss on the cheek. Gradually, Celeste visibly starts to weaken, but Wenona still moves slow. Watching Celeste begin to respond to and return Wenona’s kisses is heavenly. Then later, watching Celeste slowly allowing Wenona to touch her breasts, and then seeing Celeste purposely pulling up her tee shirt so that Wenona can suck on her breasts unobstructed, is almost dream-like in its effect on Wenona and the viewer. When the sex finally starts, about 25 minutes into the scene, Wenona is tentative with Celeste, tongue flicking her clit, bringing Celeste to two fierce orgasms. But Celeste is wild with Wenona, gorging herself on Wenona’s pussy in one moment and then pounding her pussy onto Wenona (as if Celeste were wearing a strap-on, but she isn’t). This pounding eventually causes Celeste to groan and shudder to her own remarkably intense orgasm. Just a remarkable scene. The other extraordinary scene is between Ryan Keely and Zoe Voss. Zoe is a tall, willowy girl, with short, dark hair, and large, dancing eyes. Ryan Keely is an exquisite, dark-haired beauty, with a quiet, almost regal demeanor. Both are runway models and Ryan is at Zoe’s house, hoping to borrow a black leather jacket for a photo-shoot. Zoe greets Ryan wearing only a towel, she has been lounging by her indoor pool. Zoe leads Ryan back to the pool room, and sits on the edge of her bed. Ryan sits across from her, and stares amusedly at Zoe while the towel slowly drops to the floor. Zoe takes off the black leather jacket that Ryan has been trying on. Ryan looks up at Zoe and laughs, "I’ve heard the stories about you...I kind of came here to get clothes, not take them off!" The sex itself is simply awesome. The two seriously turned-on ladies stand competing to see who can make the other cum first. Zoe sort of wins, but Ryan gains dominance over Zoe as they collapse onto the bed. Zoe is tall, but she is also almost waif-like. Ryan lies next to Zoe. As Ryan begins to arouse Zoe, Zoe shudders and grasps Ryan, hanging on desperately almost in a fetal position as she cries out when Ryan makes her cum hard. But it is Zoe Voss who is truly the amazing one. Shortly after Ryan has made Zoe cum, it is Ryan who is almost delirious from Zoe’s tongue and fingers. This has to rank as one of Anita Dark’s best and most natural love scenes. Anita is truly turned on by both Brenda’s body, and by Brenda’s honest adoration for her. The kissing and lovemaking are superb, with many remarkable moments. In one of my favorites, Brenda is alongside of Anita on the bed, kissing her neck and shoulders, while fiercely fingering Anita. Anita is becoming "agitated", twisting and panting. Brenda groans, and leans over. Brenda buries her face into Anita’s breast, sucking hard on her nipple. This almost sends Anita through the roof. Anita is now alternately gasping and crying out from the sensations. Shortly, Brenda bolts up, looks down at Anita and growls, "Now! Come on!" and pounds Anita’s pussy harder and faster. Anita screams and cums so hard that she shudders for several moments afterwards. Then Anita reaches out for Brenda, pleading, "Kiss me." Brenda collapses onto Anita, and Anita wraps her legs around Brenda’s body while they deep kiss. A very intense and rewarding movie.

WSW 63 is a perfect example of Girlfriends Films’ wildly erratic quality since they increased their volume of production. First, the good. The Ryan Keely/Zoe Voss scene is excellent. Beautifully shot, great audio, a nice setup and hot, lusty sex between two exquisite women. This was a top notch scene. Unfortunately, we also have to endure the indifferent. A really dull 25 minute setup to an equally mind numbing, boring sex scene describes Celeste Star/Wenona. Seeing Celeste Star naked is never a bad thing, but this came close. Anita Dark and Brenda James, two 30-something performers, have a professional porn scene here. Not bad, but nothing special. You have seen similar scenes dozens of times. Finally, this DVD has a really lousy scene between Heather Starlet and Elexis Monroe. If you are a fan of either of these two pornstars, beware! Viewing this could be hazardous to your health! No chemistry, a bad setup and boring, listless sex. Just awful. How the same porn company could release a DVD that has something as good as Ryan/Zoe and as bad as Heather/Elexis is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Not much to add to the reviews above beyond confirming (some of) them. Celeste and friend is slow, touchy, and very, very nice (and I loved the dresses), but with a typically creepy intro (why Girlfriends Films chooses these plots, given their attempts otherwise to cultivate a ‘super nice’ image, is a complete mystery to me - is there really a big market for this sort of fantasy of people being more or less intimidated into sex?). Brenda James and Anita Dark is more run of the mill, but nice run of the mill, and features the same two glasses of red wine that seem to be more ubiquitous than Prinzzess in GFF productions - I wonder do they always use the same glasses? Whatever, seduction over a glass of wine is much nicer than a demand for sex in lieu of rent. Then, of course, there is the off-the-scale centerpiece featuring Ryan and Zoe, which wanders far from the typical GFF set of a Midwestern bedroom, to an Andrew Blake-style modernist apartment appropriate for its Andrew Blake-style women. However, very unlike in an AB production, the focus is on showing the two of them clearly enjoying having sex with each other. Alas, also unlike in an AB production, the lens of one of the cameras is dirty - oh well.

Like the other reviewers, I too enjoyed this video. Girlfriends is usually hit or miss when it comes to their videos. I was pleasantly surprised to find three scenes (out of four) that actually I liked. Scene 1: 1 star
The first scene features Anita Dark and Brenda James. Personally I didn’t like this scene. I feel that Anita is your typical Euro porn girl. I think she’s overrated and I find her moaning to be insincere and contrived. Scene 2: 3 stars
The second scene features the two cover girls Elexis Monroe and Heather Starlet. Heather and Elexis play roles that they’re comfortable with, Heather as the naive heterosexual girl seduced to the dark side and Elexis as the seducer. I love Heather’s facial expressions, especially when Elexis does what she does best - giving oral. Scene 3: 4 stars
This scene in my opinion was the real sleeper. It features Ryan Keeley and Zoe Voss. Everything about this scene was perfect. Everything from the storyline, the two actresses, right down to the location. The indoor swimming pool was a touch of genius. It was well lit and the echos were a nice touch. If you listen closely enough you can hear some dogs barking outside the minute Ryan Keely cums. What really made the scene was that both girls had chemistry. The kissing was passionate. If you don’t believe me, check out Zoe’s sex hair after the shoot. Scene 4: 3 stars
This scene features Wenona and Celeste Star. What made this scene appealing was the great acting of Celeste Star. She played a very believable role of a woman who is freaked out over the whole lesbian scene. If you can make it past the extremely long seduction, you’ll find this scene enjoyable. Celeste just explodes.

I concur with most of the above, except for Bpop’s panning of Celeste Star and Wenona, which is the scene I really want to write about in this review. As for the other three scenes, it’s mostly “what he said,” as follows: Bpop on Anita Dark and Brenda James: “Two 30-something performers have a professional porn scene here. Not bad, but nothing special. You have seen similar scenes dozens of times.” Yep. Bpop on Ryan Keely & Zoe Voss scene: “Excellent. Beautifully shot, great audio, a nice setup and hot, lusty sex between two exquisite women. This was a top notch scene.” Yep. Heather and Elexis: Not as bad as Bpop says, but Danno’s praise is slightly more than I would give.

Celeste Star and Wenona: Humble is right – this one is really special. In my review of Lesbian Psychodramas 2 I talked about two extraordinary non-consent scenes. One girl in each was extremely reluctant, and in each the role-playing was incredibly good, with the nervousness and psychological stress sustained long, long into the actual kissing, undressing and sex-play. “Here there are no frightened first-timers instantly converted by a single lesbian kiss into wanton girl-lovers,” I wrote. Well, chalk up another 5-star role-playing effort in the Celeste Star & Wenona scene here. This time it’s a perfect seduction, rather than quid pro quo non-consent, but the “victim” is equally frightened and reluctant, a “virgin” to girl-girl sex who convincingly sustains her confusion well into the sex. Indeed, although Celeste’s reluctance is eventually displaced by arousal, the psychological stress never entirely disappears. Each new step along the path from first touch to last cuddle represents just one more nervous “out-of-body” moment in which the girl really can’t seem to believe what’s happening to her. The first time she moans, the sound appears mostly an unconscious reaction triggered more by disbelief than sensual pleasure. Although it becomes clear that pleasure is (increasingly) mixed in, the “this can’t be happening to me” quality never entirely disappears from her vocalizations. It’s an extraordinary performance, completely convincing except for a couple minor “tells” of the unavoidably delightful kind, such as the way Celeste’s first kiss to Wenona’s nipple appears to be that of a woman possessed of a finely-developed tit-sucking technique! That takes nothing away from the scene. The effect on me was that I thought, “Wow, you’re a really good role-player” rather than, “Holy cow, could Girlfriends Films possibly have roped-in a real g/g ‘virgin’ to be blackmailed or seduced?” (The latter was my reaction to "Brooke" in one of the scenes cited above.) Unlike most GFF setups this one doesn’t waste a long time on gratuitous chit-chat unrelated to the matter at hand. Just enough story is presented to make the roles convincing, and everything contributes to developing the situation: Wenona desires and is friends with the girl who rents a room from her, but the girl is planning to move back in with the folks to save money. Wenona hates to see her go, and Celeste hates the idea of living at home again. She’s sensed the other’s desire, and the thought of what it means has crossed her mind, only to be immediately dismissed of course because she’s “not that kind of girl.” Probably nothing would have happened except that now she has a very good reason to consider becoming “that kind” of girl: an invitation to move in and share a bed with a friend who’s company she enjoys and will miss. The flow is natural and the first touches and kisses are wonderfully convincing and sensual, as is each further step in the progression to fully-mutual, all-out girl-girl pleasure-giving and receiving. What’s going on here? This is from the clumsy-writing, heavy-handed GFF! The girls deserve all possible credit, but surely a sure-handed director with a solid vision must have coached them in the nuances of the assigned roles. Whatever the source, the result is something really special.
