Description
Gabrielle Colette (Mathilda May, The Jackal) is a country girl resigned to a life of general poverty in rural France, until she meets Willy, a famous bon vivant (Oscar nominee Klaus Maria Brandauer, Out of Africa), who changes her life forever. Thrust into decadent life in Paris at the turn of the century, Colette discovers a hidden passion for the written word. As her attention is diverted to an all-consuming pursuit of sensuality - guided by the debauched actress, Polaire (Virginia Madsen, The RainMaker, Ghosts of Mississippi)- Willy steals his wife's erotic writings and publishes them in his name. The young woman's fight to reclaim her work is the story of becoming a woman... of becoming Colette.

I found this to be a very enjoyable "classy" film. Colette is absolutely beautiful and her love scene with Polaire was pretty erotic although I though they could have done a little more. The kissing was nice to but could have been better. Deserves a look..
