Illusion
It looks like the aliens really planned things out in this one. When they created a "human" body for Kara, they even had the foresight to make it complete with silicone implants. Very realistic.

Critic: I've seen worse. The acting is wooden (although Vanesa Taylor does a halfway decent job portraying a clueless alien who experiences human life for the first time), and the characters are two dimensional. The plot is predictable and uninspired, but at least it doesn't suffer from too many major holes. This movie isn't really trying to be a fine cinematic work, just a fun time, so you can't actually say that it fails at its task. On the other hand, without the gratuitous sex scenes it would be about as entertaining as watching a screen saver: interesting perhaps, but only if you really have nothing else to do.

Lover: Well, there's more heterosexual contact in this movie than lesbian contact, so that's not a mark in its favor. Two of the lesbian scenes are so obviously staged and posed that it wrecks any sense of intimacy. The third scene (featuring none other than my favorite, Jacqueline Lovell a.k.a. Sara St. James) was the best in the movie and had a lot of passion in it. There was even some nice chemistry between her and Vanessa Taylor, and the surrounding dialog makes it seem like they have a real connection. Unfortunately, the director couldn't leave well enough alone, and at the last moment a guy is brought in to ruin it. Also, the characters involved in the lesbian scenes insist on mentioning heterosexual interests at one point or another, which always screws up the mystique.

Voyeur: Okay, I have to disapprove. It's bad enough that there were so many hetero scenes and we have to deal with seeing man-ass.. but male frontal nudity? Keep that tucked away, no one here is interested! This movie has some great potential: beautiful women, a hot lead actress, and Sara St. James as a supporting character. However, two of the lesbian scenes are tame and lack conviction, being done as performances for an audience, which means that right off the mark they appear staged and artificial. The last scene is a lot hotter and more passionate, but then my girl Sara always makes things better! My sincere advice: unless you really want to see the plot of this movie, get "The Girls of Surrender". It has all of the lesbian scenes from this movie with none of the man-junk.

One notably well done scene near the end of this film. Nice build up w/ the raven haired "femalien" seducing her blonde friend at the edge of a bed. A little dimly lit but scene's pace is nice and slow w/ nice kissing in it. Both actresses are very beautiful and look to be way into one another.

The scene near the end of the film between Lovell & Taylor is as hot as it gets. I have looked at this scene in slow motion. Both girls are really into it, don't think they had to "act" very much. If the oral stimulation was fake, its the best job of acting I have ever seen. Only thing missing is the close up intimate shots that you get with XXX. I wish that scene was a bit longer :). It's a fun movie to watch. I can't get enough of Lovell, wonder if she will ever do XXX ?

Jacqueline Lovell is the star of this one, and she looks mighty good as a visiting alien who wants to experience the joys of human sexuality for herself. And fortunately for us, a good portion of these encounters involve women with other women! My own favorite scene was when she's checking out an avant-garde performance between a short-haired (but really pretty) dominant woman and her pretty blonde, submissive assistant. I like it when a dom/sub element is added to a lesbian scene, and this one certainly didn't disappoint! I only wish it had continued for several minutes longer!

There were several good girl-girl scenes in this video, making it one of the best Surrender Cinema has done! I'd rate it an A-

Seize Magazine
Ten years ago there were some semi-X-rated film companies out there. Putting out some pretty good "strong-R-rated" adult films that bordered on X, with some lesbian scenes mixed in. "Dark Secrets" with Julie Strain comes to mind. Of course, the "best in the west" of them all was "The Other Woman" from Imperial Entertainment - what an astonishing lesbian-themed film that was! Why in the name of Jesus it has NEVER been released on DVD? Who knows?

This film, "Femalien," was out during that same short period. Part feature film, part adult R-rated fare. The scene at the end is quite a lusty scene indeed. We ALL know that in the world of porn, NOTHING kills a scene faster than shitty music. Why the jerks who run, film, and direct think we want to hear some polka music in the soundtrack makes you wonder why there is so much unsold product sitting in "Area-51" hangars! This scene at the end has remarkable music played in the background! Great music can add so much spice to a scene. Sometimes NO music is needed, just the moans of the lovers in action. Both Jacqueline and Vanesa are game for real lesbian sex and passion. The lighting is great, great music, Beautiful women into it, and you have a scene that lingers in the memory long after viewing!

I wish this short period of time had continued longer, of the "feature plus semi-X" films. Maybe Viv Thomas could bring a "porn" star like Devon Michaels and cast her opposite his posse of performers in his films. That would be a kick to see! Let's see Pamela Anderson Lee and Jenna Jameson in "Femalien #4!"
