B&W. Who and what is a lesbian? Where can they be found? Are they happy with their lives? These are a few of the probing questions asked in this "exposé" of NYC dykes and femmes. Desperately attempting some semblance of objective reporting, lesbianism is examined by watching these gals in their natural environments (cruising each other, being unknowingly seduced by another woman), and with "actual" statistics compiled from medical journals presented on title cards! You will be fascinated to know that lesbians get married, have vicious cat-fights over their femmes, and even initiate young debs into the Daughters of Lesbos! With the usual familiar NYC faces including the lovely June Roberts.

Camp in its highest form, but you have to try not to become offended by the fact that this was the way it actually *was* back then! (could it possibly BE?!) The film has zero to do with jail or anything like that, it is a documentary on lesbian life back in the 60's, and at times what the narrator is saying is quite scary actually. There is one decent love scene, but otherwise the film is very interesting, to say the least.

This video is pretty bizarre. It's shot as some kind of documentary about women and their natural tendencies towards lesbianism in that day and age. A man narrates the entire video. It's various bizarre scenes, mostly of mild flirting and seduction, with a couple of actual love scenes, too. Occasionally the screen displays various "factoids" about women and lesbianism - ratios, percentages, etc. I only found one of the brief scenes arousing.
1) Buildup/Seduction: There are a lot of scenes with buildup and seduction here, but what's frustrating is that you never see an actual love scene as a result.

2) Kissing: The one scene I liked (the first one) had some surprisingly good kissing. That's it for the video.

3) Attractiveness of Women: All but one of the women are very attractive. They all have that retro, "bee hive" haircut look to them, too.

UNNATURAL LOVE OF WOMEN FOR WOMEN! A DARING FILM ABOUT LESBIANISM TODAY! Today is 1965 and the forbidden world of Lesbos is treated like some kinda strange disease. Our "guide" informs us that all lesbians seem to have normal jobs (!) and consist of femmes and butches. By the way, teenage dykes are called babybutch! Staged scenes are shown to inform/scare us with the help of "actual" statistics (25% of all school girls have dabbled in lesbianism etc.). From the producer of Ed Wood's "Glen Or Glenda", so you know you're in for a mindboggling treat!

This was one of those semi-serious “documentaries” supposed to titillate the viewer regarding this "strange phenomenon" of lesbian love. Very campy. The narrator speaks over the entire thing, describing what's about to happen, although there's nothing particularly risqué going on by modern standards. Some of it is erotic nonetheless. I enjoyed the scene with the young model posing for what we learn is a predatory lesbian photographer looking to seduce one of her pretty girls. The photographer surreptitiously caresses and fondles the girl as she prepares her for their shoot. Later there's also video of lesbian parties where one woman begins stripping off her clothes while dancing for a room full of other women. I love that kind of scene, and wonder why nobody tries including that kind of thing today? I mean, it's surprisingly kinky to see a woman doing a strip tease exclusively to turn-on other women! It's hot!
