Based on a true story, Aimée & Jaguar is an unforgettable film about love, passion and the triumph of the human spirit. In the darkest days of Word War II, while the Allies are bombing Berlin and the Gestapo is purging the capital of Jews, a dangerous love affair blossoms between two women. For Lilly (aka "Aimée"), a married woman, the mother of four sons, and an exemplar of Nazi motherhood, this affair will be the decisive experience of her life. For Felice (aka "Jaguar"), Jewish, and a member of the underground, their love fuels her hope for survival. A half-century later, their incredible story became an international best-seller. Max Färberböck's award-winning film brings this extraordinary relationship to life.

I was very impressed with this movie. Although it includes a couple of very steamy love scenes between the two women, the plot was fascinating in itself, assuming you don't mind reading sub-titles.

Basically, this film shows life in Berlin during the closing days of World War II, with the deteriorating conditions of the war made even worse by the oppressive efforts by the Nazis to root out opposition and round-up Jews.

Felice (Jaguar) is one of a group of young (and very attractive) Jewish women who continue to live in the city, hiding their true identities, and doing anything to survive, including even posing for nude photos. Felice at first even hides her Jewish identity from Aimee, despite their growing love for each other. During the course of the film they learn of the Allied D-Day invasion, and then of the failed July 20th plot to assassinate Hitler. Felice's disappointment at learning that he survived finally leads to her breaking down and confessing to Aimee that she's a Jew.

Again, an excellent human account of a very real and tragic time in Germany, and yet also very erotic at times! The hottest scene, I thought, was after Aimee's birthday party when she finds a nude Felice face down in her bed, and begins passionately kissing and fondling her soft body, kissing and caressing her gorgeous rear end! Wow! Very nice!

Again, an excellent all-around film, both for its historic and erotic content. Highly recommended viewing!

The movie is fairly typical of wartime romance dramas: everyone in love is bigger than life and worth giving everything up for. This movie is typical of that theme, but with an interesting twist.

The setting is 1945 Berlin and the world is falling apart. All is chaos and ruin, but in such a state that means that the usual rules no longer apply. "Aimee" and "Jaguar" find each other and fall in love. And do they fall in love in a way that is extremely powerful and, given the historical period, very dangerous.

This movie is very erotic, but in a different way than one may expect. When the characters look at each other, there is longing in their eyes. Every glance Aimee and Jaguar share conveys every emotion the characters would feel: desire, fear, joy, sorrow...just watching the actors' faces is emotionally overwhelming. And the love scenes, though carefully staged and quite brief, are very erotic in that there is no doubt that these characters are really, really in passionately in love. This is a gut-wrenching story told with style and sympathy for this extraordinary love story.

Compelling WWII love story and great film of 1999. Brief but erotic scenes. Great performances from the leads. Be sure to check out the novel in which it was based on, by Erica Fischer. For history buffs, it gives great detail about Germany at the time and the situation. For fans of the film, it gives another dimension to the story. It includes components about the couple that was either omitted or shortened from the film.

The movie was good, the story compelling, but I was very disappointed that the smooching between the girls was so short, and there was not enough nudity showing their gorgeous bodies.
