Description
Lisel M. Gorell and Stacy Marr star in An Intimate Friendship, a heartfelt and intense look at friendship and intolerance. Already carving itself a niche in Les/Bi/Gay film festivals, An Intimate Friendship goes beyond stereotypes and delivers compelling drama. What would you do if your best friend told you she was gay? Writer Angela Evers Hughey has woven a beautiful tapestry around this single question. Would you turn your back and walk away? Or, proving that friendships can be too complicated, would you have the guts to admit that your friend's honesty scares you... because you have always been in love with her? An Intimate Friendship explores issues seldom raised in our society and handles them with a grace and dignity rarely found in today's cinema.

NOTES: This movie is remarkable due to the great amount of buildup to the eventual sexual connection two female friends make. It's frustrating to watch, because the story is so great and adds so much to the eventual love scene, yet we don't get to see the actual sex. We do, however, get to see the awesome tension and release leading into the first of many eventual kisses. Too bad the Melissa Etheridge music has to start blaring once things really get rolling. This is the kind of story I would love to see combined with a more explicit love scene. It's really worth seeing for the story itself.

Overall a great movie. The sex scenes are a bit disappointing due to the blaring music. There is bad sound quality , but the sensual tension between 2 friends is enough to satisfy all. I liked the closure of all the relationships considering this type of movie. There was nothing left hanging. 3 1/4 thumbs up.
