Season Three of Sam gets Her Girl carries on the Viv Thomas style of hot women and the hottest softcore lesbian sex scenes imaginable. Sam cuts a swath with her tongue through Thomas' stunning Czech models, and getting them to return in kind. The result is some very well done scenes. There are a few favourites in this release, among them Sam's scene with the delicious Barbi, where nipple toys are the center of the attention. And I must mention Sam's scene with the perfection that is Rebekkah Teasdale (glasses). Rebekkah's natural body is the definition of perfection. All in all, a great addition to Thomas' line of videos.

Nothing really new here, but who cares? And this but this is better than the first two SGHG episodes. Viv Thomas is like the Hugh Hefner of lesbian porn. He has a winning formula, so why change it? He continues to put out title after title all with the same high production values, beautiful girls, and tantalizing, but not HC action. Every shot is aimed at beauty - not raunch. These are more like interludes, than full blown sex scenes, as they run a little short, but you get a lot of variety, and that suits me just fine. I like Sam, but she still doesn't have that special quality that Sandy had. Oh well, all good things must come to an end, or in this case a sequel. Recommended? I don't recall a Viv Thomas production I didn't recommend.

Not long ago, soft core meant either faking it or hardcore with all the most explicit parts replaced by seemingly endless repetition of the less explicit. No more. Instead we now have complete films that simply avoid the most explicit camera angles. Does that make for less heat? Depends on your tastes. I, for one, object to hardcore only when it features long, monster close-ups of an almost gynecological nature. But films that show no actual licking or penetration can be disappointing. What about this release from Viv Thomas? Not to worry: it’s wonderful. The women look great but believable: not enhanced or made up and dressed like street-walkers, the way most U.S. porn stars are. They don’t have porn sex either, but genuinely hot encounters that proceed at a realistic pace, with lots of foreplay and the great authentic kissing that’s a hallmark of Viv’s work. Add his usual outstanding camera work and editing, beautiful settings, music that enhances some scenes and never detracts from any, and you have one very lovely, very erotic flic: combining glamour, sensuality, and true passion in a highly watchable way. More explicit shots would’ve been nice, but their absence in no way spoils the experience. Plus, there are ten scenes! Some viewers won’t like the fact that Sammy Jayne is in every one, or the way that she looks at and addresses the camera, but neither bothered me. Sam looks terrific and always does a hot scene, in which her nature as a top is a real asset. Her comments to the camera are never frequent or extended enough to be a problem. Softcore is often a good choice for new viewers, but even those who prefer hardcore shouldn’t pass up this one.

This third series was given a general release in the UK, in three volumes and more recently in a box set with some bonus footage. The production values are not as high as those of “Pink Velvet,” “Searching for Sylvia,” etc. The music is poor (if irrelevant), the dialogue and build-up is rushed, and there is a distinct absence of undressing, with each episode either beginning with the ladies fully nude, or cutting straight from clothed to nude shots, just as the lovemaking begins. However these episodes are clear and crisp and good fun. Sam is a gorgeous and svelte woman who looks a little like Nancy Sinatra and, despite the occasional forced comment or glance of approval at the camera, she makes love with zeal and genuine pleasure. The sex is genuine, but the soft-core nature of these episodes means the occasional insert of a far less convincing shot. The women who win Sammy Jayne’s attention make these episodes great because they are, in some cases at least, inconceivably beautiful. Mia, Victoria, and Barbie are particularly delightful as their scenes occur outdoors (women being even more wonderful outside in nature than in a plain bedroom). Nude and beautiful under the sun, Sam treats them to long and luscious kisses and beautiful boob licking. Not all the episodes are great; the threesome in the bathtub, with Sophie and Mia, is cut too much and Sam doesn’t properly take part in the other threesome involving Barbie and Victoria. Still, there is a fun episode with Rebecca Teasdale, and Sam makes love sensuously to a beautiful red-haired woman in Portrait Shoot. Not hardcore, but it doesn’t really matter if there are juicy kisses and the women are enjoying themselves, like they seem to be here.
