Just to let you in North America know this effort by Viv Thomas is a brilliant piece of work. In many ways, it is better and far more erotic than PV 1. And, it has Silvia Saint, of course. If this is any indication of the way Thomas is taking his videos in terms of their production values and storylines, we could all see some wonderful productions from him over the next few years.

I have just finished watching the latest release by Viv Thomas over here in England and I am pleased to say it is a winner. The usual array of gorgeous girls that appear in Viv Thomas productions are here again including the delicious Jo from Pink Velvet fame. But for me the real key to its success is the prescence of Silvia Saint. I have seen Silvia in a number of lesbian scenes over the years and let’s just say they were less than convincing, especially her many scenes for her European productions. But here she clearly is into the lesbian action and her scene with Jo is stunning. For me though the standout scene is the penultimate scene between Silvia and Tara in the swimming pool, the kissing in this scene alone is up there with the best scenes Viv Thomas has produced so far. So full marks again to Viv Thomas and with the imminent releases of Jo’s Video Diary and PINK VELVET 2, 2004 looks to be a fabulous year for us Viv Thomas fans!

Although this is not the best work Viv Thomas has done (and the bar is quite high), considering some of the drivel that gets special notice here, I am absolutely shocked that this is not a 5-star film. The scene between Silvia Saint (who was never this uninhibited and genuinely into girls in any of here previous efforts) and Tara alone should be worthy of 5-Star status and the scene is one of the top 10 best scenes of all-time. Although the rest of the video does not live up to this standard, seeing Jo with Silvia in a pretty hot, pretty kinky scene also makes this noteworthy. In sum, cheers to Viv and jeers to the review board!

Ohh, man! Scenes 3 and 5 definitely merit 5 Stars! Both scenes are 30 scorching minutes, with no toys! I know that the consensus so far is that the scene between Silvia and Tara just edges out the Silvia/Jo scene and is the hottest of the two. As far as I'm concerned, the verdict is still out! Upon the initial viewing, I haven't decided which one I like better. I love them both as each has a different feel to it, insofar as the dynamic between the girls. Let there be no doubt however, in both scenes the girls are very hot for one another! Scene 3: Blonde cuties Jo and Silvia look so much alike, and watching them cavort almost feels sinful! "Stunning" is indeed an apt description. I think that this is the best scene I've seen Jo do, definitely the kinkiest, as the little dollbabe gets tied up and blindfolded! Scene 5: The scene between Silvia and Tara is beyond words. One must see it to believe it. It unfolds like a dream and just goes on and on, and on! It's one of the hottest scenes I've watched here lately, and one that hits all the marks, over and over. This is the best single scene Viv Thomas has shot to date, imho. The subtle contrast between the two girls just sets it off and makes it red hot. Both are so cute, but in different ways. They truly make some magic together. Beautifully shot, passionate and explicit.

This, together with PV2, is the first product of the “new” Viv Thomas operation (there may not, officially, be a new Viv Thomas operation, but there has clearly been a makeover): similar atmosphere, similarly expensive looking compared to Viv's earlier stuff (there are not just big expansive - and therefore presumably expensive - sets, but a real honest-to-god Ferrari even has a drive on part here - can you imagine Ed Powers with a Ferrari?), similar clear picture, and very much in particular, similar skilled, i.e. non-porno standard, framing and editing etc. The, ah, plot revolves about a woman, Tara, being questioned by a couple of shag-pile rugs masquerading as policemen about her involvement with a secret society of lesbians led by Silvia, who sneak into empty luxury villas to have lots of watchable sex. As a plot, it is no worse than a Jerry Bruckheimer concept. I note, reviewing a draft of what I have written below, that I use the word nice a lot. Almost all the scenes on this disc fall into the nice category; you are unlikely to be disappointed. Thus: *very* nice scene with a blindfolded Jo being teased by Silvia wielding an ice-cube. Viv even manages to get away with Silvia wearing strappy high-heels and a bikini on a bed. That the high heels look expensive, and colour match the pink bikini, helps a lot. Amazingly, the bed is not stripped pine, which must be a first for Viv (he should keep in touch with that bed - I have just received my copy of 'Pussy in Paradise' in the mail, in which it also features as the location of a great scene with Peaches and friend). This is followed by a good, relatively short, scene with Jo and friend, then the much raved about scene with Tara and Silvia, in a pool in the dark, drinking prosecco, then moving indoors onto a bed. The first part of the pool scene in particular has some great kissing, and the whole thing definitely deserves the praise that others here have given it. Final scene (which has gone, so far, uncommented in posted reviews) is also notably good: an orgy. Usually, like - I think - most here, I find threesomes bad enough, never mind orgies, but this one is 'the initiation', not 'the violation' of Tara. Our heroine, blindfolded and lying on the floor, is the focus of the attention of the others, who caress her, kiss her all over, and give her very superior oral sex. She certainly looks to be enjoying it. Eventually Silvia 'initiates' her with a strap-on, after which lots of tactile fun is had by all, finishing with a ring of sex. Fetishy touch in this scene is that all the women - except Tara - wear painted on domino masks. You can also, if you want, play the game of spot Henrietta the makeup girl - responsible for the masks, presumably - who seems to have gotten so carried away by an impulse to exhibitionism that she appears in the background of the scenes (though she doesn't have sex on camera, as far as I could make out!). One minor flaw: I thought Viv had learned his lesson with PV2, where he put all music on one channel, so that you could turn it off if you want, but alas this is not so. However even the music has improved: the previously ubiquitous casiotone has been traded up along with everything else. And, finally, Silvia is looking a little older, but still good: fortunately (at least relatively), she made her appointment with a European, not an American surgeon. And it's very good to see her working with Viv, rather than Private. It's nice to see anyone working with Viv rather than Private (as an extra, we get a set of outtakes which provide lots of evidence of good vibes on set which I always like). As I said, a very nice disc. I would have thought this was an easy five stars - I don't really understand why it isn't.

Ok, this movie highlights what is right with the lezlove ideology, and what's wrong in the mainstream porn market. Here you have Silvia Saint, a beautiful woman who has starred in some very forgettable porn flicks, and yet she shines in this feature. Why? The answer is simple - direction. Viv knows how to handle women, whether they're fresh-faced Hungarian nubiles, like Jo and many others, or seasoned pros like Silvia. She has been integrated into the color filled world of Viv Thomas and Co. -something much more beautiful than anything else she's done before, and yes, she likes it! And why not, she no longer has to deal with studly porn stars and their incredible male egos, and the risk of STD's is probably much less with lesbian sex. As for the film, well it's Viv with his new winning formula - color play and matching, lush sets, stunning women, clear unobtrusive cinematography, and specifically tailored lesbian action: i.e. extensive kissing scenes, no toys, no unflattering closeups, etc. Why change it? He has added the new element of a porn star, but Silvia looks radiant under his staff's exceptional makeup and wardrobe, not cheap and slutty like she would in a mainstream porn production. This is a woman you could fall in love with here, not just lust after. Her scenes with Jo (amazing kissing) and Tara took my breath away. Passion, buildup, foreplay, explicitness, sensuality - it's all there. I don't see how anyone could be dissatisfied with this movie, but I'm sure some nitpicker will find something to harp on. For me, the one and only fault Viv has is the interference of music. NO natural sounds can be heard, which makes it seem like a really erotic music video at times rather than a lesbian film, but it's very arousing and satisfying anyway. If he ever gets the sound aspect right, I feel sorry for the competition, because there will be no competing with him. I hope he continues in attracting some of the more beautiful adult stars into his superior projects, we can only benefit from it, and so will they. Recommended? As if you had to ask. Grade: A+

This movie was great! I was blown away by the beauty of the girls and the smooching was unbelievable, erotic and very hot! I'd recommend this movie for whomever is a huge fan of hot girl/girl smooching because this video has it, lots of erotic tongue action and deep sensual kisses. I also thought the girls had great bodies and some of the sexiest bellies I have seen in a long time!

The previous reviews highlight the great elements in this video. That said, I don't think Searching for Silvia is as good as his other offerings. As I watched "Silvia", two distracting elements really stood out for me: video effects and the use of toys. The effects seemed overused; long, overlapping dissolves, and the fast motion to regular motion treatment, and step framing are tired. Please don't fall into using video effects for effects sake. Toys? Isn't it more erotic to see Viv's women arousing one another using their bodies rather than introducing an appliance? All this said, Searching for Silvia is a 4 star effort - which means it's still in the top 10% of all the videos in the marketplace!

This is my 2nd Viv Thomas movie that I have purchased (first being Young Lesbian Love), and I still am not disappointed. The movie has a very good storyline and some fair acting (for porn) which made it more appealing to my wife. The first scene is with Jamie and Janine. The mood lighting is fantastic, making you really feel like a voyeur watching this highly erotic scene between two girls on the floor. Both girls show genuine excitement with some honestly wet pussies (as I have noted in 90% of Viv's work) which really adds a fantastic quality to the scene(s). Both girls enjoy some mutual pussy eating before retiring to a splendid 69, then a little clear dildo action (which was nonetheless quite sexy). Scene 2 is with Tara (short-haired blonde) and Jamie. Both girls play around with strawberries and cream, which gives the scene a playful yet incredibly erotic quality. This kind of thing makes Viv's work stand out from the other "wham bam thank you ma'am" lesbo porn where the girls just go through motions and don't interact too much other than to chow down. Viv's trademark 69 scene works in great here, as Tara is quite adept at pussy eating 101. (Burying that nose into that muff!) Scene 3 Is the much talked about scene with Silvia and Jo. The greatest thing about this scene has got to be the fact that Jo is blindfolded through some of it, and the ice cube play makes things move slow and builds up sexual tension well. The wife loved this scene. Scene 4 - Jo and Janine have some poolside fun. Jo didn't seem too into this scene, but Janine pulls it off well. If I had to choose one, this would be the scene I didn't care for much out of the whole movie. I have to say that I find Janine's privates to be quite delectable, so I can watch this whole scene without zipping over it purely based on her. Don't get me wrong, this scene blows away any mainstream porn scene you may come across - just by Viv's work standards it is average. Scene 5 - here we go. I can't say enough about this one! Silvia and Tara in the pool, then to the bedroom at night. The lighting, champagne (is it?) pouring over the bodies, the arched backs and emphatic kissing on both girls' parts just blew us away. It was almost a shame they left the pool and went inside...I could have watched that for hours. Again, the "voyeur" feeling was there - almost as if you were sitting in the pool watching this incredible tryst. Once the girls retreat to the bedroom, I found the sexiest thing to be the fact their hair was wet still. Now, leave it to Viv to make this scene stand out and not look "cookie cutter". Most directors would make the girls dry off and restyle their (now dry) hair, then throw em in the sack to continue the scene (if they would even go that far). But Viv brings out the "hunger" the two girls have for each other (after watching them kiss all movie long and JUST NOW finally get to taste each other's juices) by keeping the hair wet...outstanding! Some good camera angles on Tara lapping it up between Silvia's legs really do the trick too. Outstanding. Scene 6 - the orgy scene. Now I am not usually one for orgies (especially of the all-girl variety-YAWN). But I have to say I loved this one. Strap on action does rear its ugly head, but it is done quite tastefully and erotically. The girls looked beautiful, and the face painting and blindfolds made things very interesting. The wife loves the dress-up atmosphere, and this really turned her on. All in all, this DVD is fantastic. It deserves the 5 Stars PLUS. Not a bad scene in the house, just one that was average. A definite must have for any collection.

As usual with Viv Thomas: gorgeous but still believable women making passionate love in exotic settings. The authenticity of their encounters and the sheer, overwhelming beauty of the camera work make for a viewing experience on a par with Viv’s best work. I believe, moreover, that growing popularity has produced a bigger budget and encouraged him to refine and develop his glamorous style of sex film. (With Viv the word “porn” seems completely inappropriate). Stylistically, this one is more like Pink Velvet than, say, Sandy’s Holiday Sex Fantasies. It has the same otherworldly, or dreamlike, quality. The six scenes featuring the same five girls are strung together by some sort of plot device (one of the girls undergoing a subsequent police interrogation), whose dialogue was so rapid that I could understand nearly nothing of the thick accents. Fortunately it’s irrelevant. The sex scenes stand alone, can be viewed in any order, and are all great. Before the fall of the Iron Curtain, who ever imagined that Eastern European women could look so good and be so hot? There is some toy use, but it’s infrequent and never a problem. Unlike US porn, the girls use them as part of a genuine encounter, i.e., while continuing to kiss and interact in other ways. The toys never distract or function as an alternative to real making out. Speaking of which: Why do the American porn industry’s girl-girl flicks never include kissing like this?! How can American girls go down on each other in front of the camera but not put mouths and tongues together like real people do every day? Is it possible that they don’t they like to kiss? Does someone tell them not to? What? Viv Thomas has risen to the top in part because his girls kiss with honest enthusiasm. Can’t other directors/producers see that this is plus? I just don’t understand why something so erotic and so much a part of real sex should be so infrequent in standard-issue all-girl fare. Music: Thank goodness Viv has stopped using the irritating disco pop that so many others favor. Here there is only well chosen, sensual music that complements the scenes nicely. At first it seems too loud, completely overriding the natural sounds of lovemaking. But as the action heats up, the music fades to a low level and the girls’ own sounds become prominent. In what I now consider a signature move, Viv drops the music altogether as one girl or the other approaches orgasm. The camera then focuses in, capturing every moment. Think of all those other directors whose camera routinely wanders away from the scene’s climactic moment. Either they don’t realize the girl is coming or don’t particularly care. In either case, Viv’s sensitivity, his awareness and appreciation of both the girls and the audience, make those other directors look simply dense. (No need even to mention the thousands of standard-fare, hetero-porn flicks in which the women never come at all). Viv Thomas earns the praise he receives because he understands, values, and makes a consistently thoughtful effort to satisfy a specific niche market: one composed of viewers, largely female, who want to see beautiful women have sex in exotic settings, women who exhibit genuine affection for one another, sex that is hot but naturally paced, fully believable, and mutually satisfying. In this market, Viv has no rival because no one else has had the sense to realize that it is a viable market or the sensibility to appreciate its desires. Anyway, it’s hard at this point to imagine better glamour-porn.

A really good movie, both pleasurable and entertaining at the same time. Pleasurable: The sex in most of the scenes is pleasurable. The girls are enthusiastic and seem to enjoy being with each other. As for Silvia Saint, in the mainstream her lesbian scenes were average or cold. She is on blazing fire here. It just goes to show how much a girl can heat up the screen when she is directed properly. Pretty much every scene is a winner here. The kissing is phenomenal, especially when it's being done in between scenes. Entertaining: The scenes with Tara being interrogated by the police I found to be quite amusing. As Phathead pointed out, the two cops look like they came straight out of "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys. I've always liked the Beastie Boys' music (their punk, acoustic, and instrumentals, as well as their rap and hip-hop), So this made those scenes that much more fun to watch. I'd also like to mention that this movie is over 2 1/2 hours long- just like Pink Velvet is. The beautiful girls, a believable plot, the kissing, Silvia Saint, the production, and the enthusiasm of the girls make this a sure winner. Recommended definitely!

I recently have been buying Lezlove Video films whenever I can find them in the local stores. The more that I watch “Searching for Sylvia,” the more it leaves me climbing the walls. This is a REALLY nice film with some really pretty girls. The third scene between Jo and Silvia was truly one of the hottest and sexiest scenes I've ever seen. The two girls looked incredibly beautiful together, and were obviously relaxed and totally in tune with one another. Towards the end of the scene, the two vixens treat each other to the most tantalizing and delightful analingus. Jo looked so beautiful with her face just inches from Sylvia’s rear, marveling at her beauty. Coming from a girl that’s been into women most of her life, I strongly recommend this film for both men and women. It’s a very erotic film.

An absolutely stunning film. The beauty of the women, the high production values, the genuine heat, and the kissing (oh, the kissing!) all combine to make for a great film. There is a dreamy quality to many of the scenes. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I didn’t think the rather silly story framing the scenes added much. If you ‘re going to go to the effort of including a story, why not try and be a little more serious. But it didn‘t take away from the sex scenes at all. Highlights include anything with the very beautiful Jamie, and the Jo and Sylvia hook-up, but the best part is Tara and Sylvia in the pool; there‘s lots of deep, sensual, wet kissing that makes for perfect foreplay before the girls retire to the bedroom. I put this in the top tier of the Viv Thomas films, along with the Pink Velvets. Women - 5/5

For me this was a good - perhaps even very good - video, but not great. Not my favorite of Viv's work. I think it's because Tara is not my favorite Viv girl, and she's so prominent in this one. Oh, she's plenty hot, but, to me, her scenes are only good and not great. The scene between Jo and Silvia, though, is a classic. One of the best scenes Viv ever shot; also, the final orgy scene is quite nice, too. Orgy scenes often fail because the director doesn't know what to focus on or tries to focus on too much and doesn't let hot moments finish playing out. Viv manages it as well as I've seen. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the girls are all so hot as well.
